We are me; Mummy, otherwise known as Michelle, Big chickpea; Daddy, otherwise known as Tristan, Medium chickpea; Rowan and Baby chickpea Reuben. This blog was started as I thought I was starting to loose track of all the amazing day to day things my children learn and how we grow as a family. It is also here to keep family and friends up to date with our adventure of moving our life from the UK to Australia.

May catch up

Well from looking at this blog you would think we haven't done anything in May except Reubens birthday, so I thought I would bung on a load of photos in one go.

Life has been super busy, the weather is generally good so we are out a lot and longer, now the evenings are light too.  And we have been busy sorting and selling.  Tris has had a quiet few weeks on the work front, so we have made use of the time and done car boot number 1, and started sorting for the next one.

I think Reuben has realised the enormity of our move and got quite upset about missing his friends, but we have had a good chat and he seems better now and is helping sorting out his stuff as well.

Anyway heres some photos....

The weather had been lovely recently, so the sand box has come out again.  No longer are they happy to just play in it, but everytime it comes out now the whole box gets tipped out and generally thrown around!

These boys are so funny, as soon as the sun comes out they whip their tops off

Our friends got married at the beginning of the month at Tehidy Country Park, which was a lovely day

The ceremony was beautiful.  The wedding party followed Matt (groom) through the woods to a clearing where we all waited for Kells (bride)to come the other way
There in the clearing, surrounded by bluebells, friends and family they recited their vows, exchanged rings and a couple of others read some lovely verses

A lovely spur of the moment ' Lets go to the beach for the day'

We have also had a fire station trip with the home ed group, which was ACE.

All the children got to wear firemans coats and have a go on the hoses.  They all loved it

Reuben has now decided that he wants to be a fireman

I did a whole post on Reubens birthday but didn't mention Tris' birthday.  Well it was Tristans birthday on the Saturday and the sun was shining, so we went to St Ives for a lovely pub lunch, then met up with Gavin and another climbing friend and did some bouldering.

I went to beach with the kids whilst the 'men' went off to do some harder bouldering, they all came back commenting ' Tristan is a nutter!'  Yep, we know!

I think Tris had a really good birthday, look at that grin :)

Daddys carrot cake, unfortunatley it wasn't cooked properly :(

Last weekend was the first day of the Olypmic torch relay, so we headed out to Falmouth.  It was great fun.  The sun was shining and there was an amazing atmosphere, even though the torch was half an hour late.  The town was packed.

This toy soldier street performer quite often pops up in places we go to.  The boys love him

Lots of freebies, although you had to battle with the grannies to get some of them!

Falmouth put on a very Cornish affair, which was great.

The relay

The amount of police was astonishing

The torch

And then it was gone!

Reuben is 4

Yesterday was baby chickpeas birthday, little Boo was 4 and he had an amazing day.  We had planned a little garden party for him and his friends and only he could choose his guests, so he choose 4 friends from pre school, 2 of which couldn't come, but when we gave him a list of suggested others he stated he wanted only Piran and Japser to come, they are his two best freinds.  They are all so similar, slightly bonkers and lots of fun!

The sun was shining, we had a bouncy castle and party food.  I did plan on doing some party games, but they were all having so much fun, the opportunity didn't arise.

Reubens birthday table all set out

Reubens last sleep being 3

Woohoo, a pedal bike

Rowan choose him a board game for his present

Oh, I love this photo, he is so happy

Blowing out his birthday breakfast candle

Reuben has had a fascination with skunks of late, and for his birthday he really wanted a pet skunk, but with an overseas move coming up (not too mention the fact that they smell and are not native to the UK!) we said no, so he then asked for a skunk cake!  I am quite happy with how it turned out, and so was he, which is the main thing.  He also now has 3 toy pet skunks, all of which get tucked up at night!

Bouncy fun

Love this one too!

Party time.  It was a lovely party, it wasn't crazy or manic, quite chilled in fact

One of his friends gave him these little monsters that live in bins, he loves them!
All in all it was a great day.  When I asked Reuben at the end of the day, what was his best bit, he replied, "The end, when I gave my friends their party bags"
He is such a caring, loving, generous soul that the best bit of his whole birthday was giving someone else a present!

Happy Birthday, my sweet, loving, cheeky booboo boy, Reuben.  We Love You xx
