We are me; Mummy, otherwise known as Michelle, Big chickpea; Daddy, otherwise known as Tristan, Medium chickpea; Rowan and Baby chickpea Reuben. This blog was started as I thought I was starting to loose track of all the amazing day to day things my children learn and how we grow as a family. It is also here to keep family and friends up to date with our adventure of moving our life from the UK to Australia.

Camping Fun

After Christmas and New Year was over we booked up a few nights camping in Imbil State Forest.

In the national parks here they provide very basic campgrounds for a very small fee.  Most of them are only accessible by 4x4 but a few you can get to by car.  So we booked up one that sounded nice and that we could get to.

It was great.  The campsite was very basic, they had toilets, water (but not for drinking) and campfire rings made of cast iron.  You just drove around the site, chose your pitch and set up.

We all had a great time, there was a creek for swimming, a path for riding around, walking trails through the forest and enough space for a good game of cricket!  We all relaxed, played, toasted marshmallows and had fun.

Reuben did have a bit of clumsy time.  On the second night, whilst being a hyper wally by the fire, he fell into the campfire, put his hands out to stop himself and burnt his hands and wrist on the cast iron fire ring.   He was in shock and the burns were quite bad but it could have been so much worse.
So he had both hands all bandaged up.  Then the next day he came flying off his bike (as he was speeding down a slight hill without using his brakes!) and smashed up his nose and cheek.
Then the next day he crashed into a tree on his bike (the same hill as the day before), no injuries this time!
So he went home all bandaged up and looking rather bad and our forst aid kit in need of replenishing!

Other than Boo’s accidents it was great, the boys made friends, Tris and I had a chance to kick back and relax and Rowan learnt how to play cricket.
