For New Years Eve we went to a nearby beach that was hosting
a family friendly celebration.
Kings
Beach has a few parks, a
large esplanade to walk along next to the beach, lots of bbq’s and picnic areas
and a large stage and field where they hold allsorts of things. We got there around 5pm and the place was
packed, whole families had taken over the picnic areas with party hats,
balloons and a great atmosphere. We
managed to find a bbq, grabbed some chips and cooked our sausages then headed
off to the funfair.
Sometimes Australia
seems 10 years behind the rest of the world and stepping into this funfair was
like that! They only had a few rides,
you had to queue in front of this ancient ticket booth to get your ticket for
your ride/s. They even had the cage,
which we haven’t seen in a fair in the UK for years!
Anyway the boys choose to go on a dinosaur bouncy castle,
the teacups and a bouncy slide. They
also watched a Looney Tunes show, with bugs bunny and friends on stage. Rowan was up joining in with all the
moves! Then they showed the movie Rio on a large outdoor screen. It was great, as the sun was going down the
field was filled with families and their picnic rugs and everyone sat around,
chilling out with food and drink and kids all having fun.
After the movie everyone headed to the beach for the
fireworks. It was rammed, the beach was
packed solid on either side of the taped off area and all the esplanade was
packed too. It was only 9.30pm which was
great as it meant we could all get to see the fireworks.
The fireworks were great, the boys loved them for a bit, but
after a while they wanted to go, too noisy!
We then headed home amongst cries of Happy New Year and of
course a few sparklers
All of the photos have gone on all jumbled up
